GLWD Education Development Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of GLWD Investment Company Limited, established to reposition Nigeria's education sector through private sector led education infrastructure development and operations. The company will develop, operate, and manage greenfield basic, secondary, and tertiary education facilities within every designated Education City, with one Education City per political ward across Nigeria's 774 local government areas.
As the implementing arm for all education related activities under the Green Line White Dots Initiative, GLWD Education will deliver high quality, internationally benchmarked curricula from early childhood through tertiary and vocational training at zero cost to students and families. The company's mandate is to provide free K-12 education at scale, funded through GLWD Investment Company's internal infrastructure levies and ring fenced budgetary support mechanisms. TVET integration is included to create a workforce pipeline into the MDG Project Nigeria ecosystem.

Education plays a critical role in improving quality of life by increasing productivity, driving inclusive economic growth, and alleviating poverty. Access to quality education aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4. Nigeria's educational focus needs to shift towards Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and other modern educational approaches at all levels to meet global standards.
Federal expenditure on education is 8% of national budget, less than UNESCO's recommended 15-20%. In 2022, the Education Sector was allocated ₦1.3 trillion, translating to approximately ₦5,652 per capita (with a population of 230 million).

Develop, construct, operate and manage greenfield basic and secondary education centers (K-12) to international standards; provide free basic education; invest in STEM through ICT curriculum comprising computer science, information technology and digital literacy; prioritize girls' education through scholarships and enrollment initiatives. Roadmap: at least one functional basic and secondary education center in each political ward.
Construct greenfield skills acquisition centers focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and Technical Vocational Education and Training; ensure competencies for employability and MSME productivity; integrate apprenticeship programs; feed directly into employment opportunities created by MDG Project Nigeria.
Create tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs through significant recruitment and training of academic and non-academic personnel; provide good remuneration and working conditions.
